Bengaluru:Job interviews can be tricky unless the candidate is prepared well. The importance of job interviews can’t be overstated given the job environment in the country. Therefore, an aspirant has to prepare well before facing the recruiter. This aspect is more important for a fresher, who has just passed out from the college or university, as the level of scrutiny may be higher owing to higher number of aspirants.
Usually, interview questions vary depending on the industry. For instance, an interviewer is expected to ask a set of questions related to that particular domain- mechanical engineering or computer science or accounting or medical science- depending on the job role. However, there are many questions, which remain the same irrespective of the industry.
These set of questions are:
- Could you tell me about yourself? Also, tell me something about your background.
- How do you hear about this position? Is it through your friends or advertisement or co-workers?
- Tell me something about your professional experience.
- Do you have any doubt about the job role here? Have you worked in a similar project before?
- What are your responsibilities in the current job role? What is your team size? Will you be comfortable in working with a small/large team?
- I see a gap in academics/ professional career in your resume. Can you throw some light on these aspects?
- What are your salary expectations?
- How soon will you be able to join us? What is your current notice period?
- Are you willing to relocate if the company requires it?
- Do you have any questions with regard to our discussion or job role?
Apart from queries related to specific domains, these are the common questions, which a candidate has to face in most interviews. For freshers, questions are related to the projects or internships, which they have done during college days.
