Dehradun: Uttrakhand Education Department has done away with the winter holidays for Class X and XII students this year. The decision was aimed at ensuring students to complete their board syllabus well ahead of the exams.
The state government issued an order on December 24 and said that teachers of Class X and XII will have to report to school while teachers of other classes are not required to that, according to news agency ANI.

However, the district magistrate has been entrusted with the responsibility of taking a call on school closures based on weather conditions. The order is applicable to state government and government-aided schools.
The schools in Uttarakhand reopened after a gap of over seven months on November 2 for class X and XII students adhering to the COVID guidelines.
