Xavier University’s School Of Rural Management Achieves 100% Placement
Bhubaneswar: It is time to rejoice for Bhubaneswar based School of Rural Management, Xavier University after it achieved 100 per cent placement for all the 106 eligible students.
Despite the pandemic affecting placement processes, the Rural Management program of the university maintained its tradition of 100 per cent placement. The highest salary of Rs 11.25 lakhs per annum was offered by the international consulting firm PwC and the average salary remained just above 7.00 lakhs per annum.
Giving details of the placement, Professor Saveeta Mohanty informed that like previous years students of Rural Management were in great demand. “This year there were many recruiters from the development sectors and many of our students preferred field-based development-oriented jobs. As usual School of Rural Management remained the preferred destination of recruiters for the rural marketing profile,” Professor Mohanty said via a release.
Amul, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Care India, IDFC First Bank, Prestige, Satin Credit Care, AISECT, RBL Finserve, PRADAN, BRLPS-Jeevika, MPSRLM, Rajeevika, Drishtee are some of the recruiters.
A total of 40 companies participated in the process, of which 17 were new first-time recruiters. Odisha-based start-up Nisarga-Bliss also participated in the process and picked two students.
More than 10 students are already in the field and have started working as the Covid-Warriors. Few more are likely to join in the coming weeks. “It gives me immense satisfaction as the faculty of Rural Management that our students have joined the war against the pandemic as the frontline warriors in the true spirit of Jesuit’s philosophy,” said Professor Niraj Kumar was quoted as saying via the release.
“Our curriculum and pedagogy make our students sensitive toward social and national issues and opting for jobs in the development sector is the outcome of the same” he added.
