BHUBANESWAR: The Bank of India (BoI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the XIM University to equip its officers with a deeper understanding of managing and financing agri-innovation, startups, and high-tech growth projects.
As part of the tie-up, the five-day training programme, ‘Banking on Agri-innovation: Financing the Future’ began at XIM University, Bhubaneswar on November 18, 2024. Twenty-five senior officers of the Bank of India, representing various regions of the country, took part in this specially curated training programme.
Inaugurating the programme, Bank of India General Manager Vikash Krishna highlighted the bank’s objectives’ alignment with the government’s goal of doubling farmers’ incomes by promoting innovative high-tech agribusiness.

“This collaboration with XIM University reflects our commitment to equipping our officers with the knowledge and skills necessary to support innovative and high-growth agricultural ventures and inclusive finance. The meticulously crafted content and expert coordination by the XIM demonstrate the university’s excellence in the field,” he said.
Fr. S. Antony Raj, SJ, Registrar of XIM University, welcomed the participants. “Every five years, we are expecting disruption in the market because of innovations. We need to remain prepared for it. I am confident that this specially designed training will meet the expectations of all participants,” he said.
Prof. Niraj Kumar, the programme coordinator, highlighted the training’s objectives.
“This thoughtfully designed programme resonates with the central leadership’s vision and addresses the specific needs of the bank officers. By integrating technical knowledge with behavioural skills, we aim to empower the participants to apply their learning effectively,” he said.
The programme features sessions led by distinguished experts from academia and industry. In addition to interactive technical sessions, participants will explore Odisha’s vibrant cultural heritage.
