Kannur: Two students of Government College of Engineering, Kannur have won the international #CODE19 Hackathon for developing a virtual classroom amid the coronavirus lockdown.
The students, Abinand C and Shilpa Rajeev, are pursuing BTech in computer science.
They will receive the prize money of Rs 7.5 lakh for creating ‘iClassroom’ that facilitates lecture recordings, online assignments and similar projects, the only viable option during an exigency like the lockdown, a release by Kerala Startup Mission said.
Driven with the aim to spread awareness for fighting COVID-19 through education, the event was organized by charitable organization Motwani Jadeja Family Foundation in collaboration with software solutions firm Hackerearth.
The international #CODE19 competition is focused on supporting young entrepreneurs across the globe.
