Bhubaneswar: School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Wednesday informed the State Assembly that about 1,600 posts of Science teachers are lying vacant in different schools in Odisha.
Replying to a question of the BJP member Mohan Majhi, he said science laboratories have been set up 2,562 high schools from the Rs 520 crore sanctioned by the Centre for the purpose. The science laboratories have also been set up in 819 high schools with the CSR (corporate social responsibility) funds.
Stating that 100 Adarsh Schools have science laboratories, the Minister said efforts are on to set up another 429 laboratories under the ‘Mo School’ programme.
