New Delhi: At least 207 registered employers have been blacklisted by the Delhi government from its job portal Rozgar Bazar for allegedly asking for money to the job seekers, according to a senior state government official.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched the portal on July 27, aiming to help those who had lost jobs during the nationwide lockdown since March 25 due to COVID-19 outbreak.
Complaints were received by the government through feedback forms that few employers were demanding money from aspirants. Ordered by deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, the government probed into the matter and took the decision to blacklist the firms.
“It was informed that some complaints have been received wherein money has been demanded from job seekers by the employers who are registered on Rozgar portal… It was informed that the complaints are examined. The minister then directed that the name of such employers may be deleted from (the) portal after due examination,” Hindustan Times quoted the minutes of a meeting chaired by Sisodia on October 8.
