Ahmedabad: As many as 22 people tested COVID-19 positive at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad. The cases are suspected to have come to the fore following a few students’ visit to the Narendra Modi Stadium in the city to witness the India-England T20I fixture on March 12.
Five students tested positive initially but the infection spread among more students and teachers and on March 23, 11 positive for the coronavirus, according to IIM officials.
The spread of COVID-19 on the campus has sparked tension among students, who claimed that the infected individuals were not isolated.
Dismissing the allegation, IIM-A officials said students who tested positive were quarantined within an hour.
