Amritsar: Almost 300 students, who have recently graduated from the Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), are staring at an uncertain future. Several companies that came with job offers for them found it hard to evolve a criterion for recruitment as there is no “comprehensive evidence” of their academic performance.
In an official release on Sunday, the GNDU said the students are at a peculiar situation regarding their job offers. This is due to the non-availability of detailed marksheets of their intermediate semesters after they were promoted last year on the basis of the cumulative average of their grades of earlier semesters, reported news agency PTI.
This was done as per the directions of the government in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the university further said.
Also, there have been reservations over the conduct of non-proctored e-mail based examinations, a varsity official said.
