Bhubaneswar: Cracking the whip on absenteeism, the Odisha Government has decided not to allow students with less than 75 per cent attendance to appear for the annual examinations.
In a communication to all government and non-government aided college principals, Higher Education Secretary Saswat Mishra said that “students with less than 75 per cent attendance shall not be allowed to appear in the end-term examination”. However, remedial or extra classes should be held for such students so that they can reach a minimum of 75 per cent level.
The communication has been forwarded to regional directors of education as well and to the Registrar and Controller of Examinations of the state universities.
