Bhubaneswar: Khemundi Degree College Ganjam, Binayak Acharya College Berhampur, Loisingha Degree College Bolangir, Govt College Koraput and Odisha State Open University Sambalpur organised various events under the Mo College Abhijan to commemorate the true value of the state government’s flagship initiative to connect the alumni with the Alma Mater towards holistic development of the higher education institutions like Colleges and Universities.
In association with an NGO PREM, Khemundi Degree College, Digapahandi, Ganjam, organised an awareness campaign on ‘Say No to Child Labour’. The principal, staff and students participated in the event that saw 60 students pledging for the cause.
Binayak Acharya College Berhampur conducted a signature campaign on ‘Say No to Child Labour’ in association with Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR) and child rights organisations EDUCO & PREM.
Loisingha Degree College, Bolangir organised essay, debate, song, dance and rangoli contest under Mo College Abhijan that witnessed 40 students participating.
Govt College Koraput held a career counselling session on the topic of career guidance and job opportunities for the graduates. Assistant Prof and HoD (Education), Dr Ramendra Kumar Parhi, was the keynote speaker in the programme attended by 100 students along with the principal, Mo College coordinator and faculty members.
However, a blood donation camp was organised by the Odisha State Open University Sambalpur Alumni Association in collaboration with the medical team of the District Headquarter Hospital Sambalpur. Faculty and students donated blood on the occasion.
Various alumni and student connect initiatives are being undertaken by the colleges at their premises under the banner of the Odisha government’s flagship project.
