New Delhi: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will approve new colleges and universities using virtual inspection method amid the nationwide lockdown.
The council has released an online form for the new institutes to apply with the documents same as the previous year.
Moreover, to avoid further delay, the institutes would have to show their space, building and infrastructure virtually, which would be recorded, the council said in its guidelines.
“AICTE has devised online scrutiny of documents and online institute inspections, using Microsoft Team, without physical visits, for giving approvals to new colleges. I personally think this new method is better because it saves time. Also there is more transparency since we can conduct surprise inspections at any time and verify if what was claimed in terms of infrastructure and otherwise is indeed available,” AICTE chairman Anil Sahasrabuddhe told The Indian Express.
