AIIMS Bhubaneswar To Organise 5th Convocation Today

BHUBANESWAR: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar will organise its 5th convocation ceremony on July 14, 2025.

President of India Droupadi Murmu will grace the convocation as the chief guest, said AIIMS Bhubaneswar Executive Director Dr. Ashutosh Biswas.

Dr. Biswas emphasised the significance of this milestone in the lives of young healthcare professionals who are ready to contribute to the nation’s health system with compassion, skill, and dedication.

Apart from the President, Governor of Odisha Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Health & Family Welfare Mukesh Mahaling, Member of Parliament Aparajita Sarangi will also grace the occasion.

This year, 643 healthcare professionals will be conferred degrees including 196 MBBS (Batch 2016 & 2017), 158 MD/MS (Batch 2019 & 2020), 49 DM/MCh (Batch 2019 & 2020), 21 Post-Doctoral Fellows (PDF) (Batch 2022 & 2023), 116 BSc Nursing (Batch 2017 & 2018), 62 BSc Paramedical (Batch 2018 & 2019), 41 MSc Nursing (Batch 2019 & 2020).

In recognition of exceptional academic performance, 59 gold medals will be awarded to 31 students, including 17 MBBS students, one MD/MS student, one DM/MCh student, three BSc Nursing students, seven BSc Paramedical students and two MSc Nursing students.

Founded in 2003, AIIMS Bhubaneswar stands as a beacon of medical education, research, and healthcare delivery. Over the years, the Institute has become a symbol of trust not only in Odisha but also in the neighbouring states, fulfilling its mission of bridging regional disparities in tertiary health care.

AIIMS Bhubaneswar has been ranked 12th among top medical colleges and second among emerging medical colleges in the India Today-MDRA Survey 2025.
