Bhubaneswar: KISS Bhubaneswar achieved a remarkable cent per cent result with all 1900 candidates clearing the Matriculation examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.
A total of 629 students passed the exam securing 70 per cent or more marks. The statewide pass percentage was 97.89.
Mohan Charan Raita, of Saura tribe from Gajapati district, emerged topper of KISS securing an aggregate of 540 marks.
As many as 573 students from primitive tribes Didai, Juang, Khadia, Lodha, Lanjia Saura and Bonda etc to have cleared the exam.
Among the successful candidates is Chandini Majhi, daughter of the much talked-about Dana Majhi. Chandini and her two younger sisters have been pursuing their study at KISS.
Dana Majhi, from Melaghar village under Thuamul-Rampur block of Kalahandi district, had made the headlines in 2016 when he walked 10 km, carrying his deceased wife’s body. Dr Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT & KISS, had then extended a helping hand to the family in facilitating the sisters to pursue studies in KISS.
Dr Samanta expressed his pleasure about the results of KISS, saying that it has been possible due to earnest efforts of faculties and staff of the institution as well as diligence and dedication of students.
