Alumni Donate Oxygen Concentrator To IIM Calcutta

Kolkata: The alumni of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) have donated a unit of an oxygen concentrator to the institute.

Following the death of Dharmes Oraon, also a victim of COVID-19, some alumni of the same batch came forward and donated the oxygen concentrator to the IIM Calcutta community. The concentrator would cater to group D staff and contract workers, the IIM Calcutta said via a statement on Saturday.

The oxygen concentrator is kept at the institute’s medical unit.

“This donation of a life-saving device reiterates institute-alumni relations. Such generous gestures on behalf of our alumni is an affirmation of the emotional connection that they have with their alma mater,” Dean (New Initiatives and External Relations), IIM Calcutta, Professor Manish Thakur was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
