Apple Introduces Free Online Coding Courses For Computer Science Educators
Apple rolled out a free online coding course for teachers, while trimming up its existing school coding programmes with new resources, on Thursday. A statement released by Apple Inc was reported by Livemint.
The Cupertino California-based company will offer coding courses under the banners — ‘Develop in Swift’ and ‘Everyone can code’.
The new course will help computer science educators build fundamental knowledge about application development. It will further enable them to teach their students with Apple’s open source programming language Swift.
Apple’s vice-president of Markets, Apps and Services, Susan Prescott was quoted as saying, “As part of our commitment to help expand access to computer science education, we are thrilled to be adding a new professional learning course to help more educators, regardless of their experience, have the opportunity to learn coding and teach the next generation of developers and designers.”
While ‘Everyone can code’ is a course for beginners, ‘Develop in Swift’ aims at advanced learners.
