VIT Cancels Engineering Entrance Exams; Admission Based On Class XII Marks

Vellore: The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has cancelled its engineering entrance examination (VITEEE) for this year keeping in view the rising number of COVID-19 cases across the country.

Every year, VIT conducts engineering entrance exams for the intake of students for four of its campuses in the country. The admission will be done on class XII and pre-university marks basis for this year, an official statement said.

“Conducting VITEEE-2020 in various cities with rising infections has become risky and dangerous. To keep the student and parent community safe, VITEEE-2020 stands cancelled. The admission will be based on +2 or Pre-University marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology,” the official statement said.

The institute will also consider the scores of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. Students can check the college website for more details as the form for filling marks has already been issued.
