NEW DELHI: The application process for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will close at 11.59 pm on December 18.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) opened registration on November 27, 2025, and will conduct the CTET 2026 on February 8, 2026. The official website to submit applications is ctet.nic.in.
The CTET is a national-level eligibility test that determines who can teach in Classes 1 to 8 across centrally administered and recognised schools in India.
Conducted twice a year by CBSE, the exam is often a must-have credential for those aiming for jobs in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and other government and aided schools.

Registration began: November 27, 2025
Last date to apply: December 18, 2025 (11:59 PM)
Exam date: February 8, 2026
There is no option to change the application city later, and CBSE will allocate exam cities randomly once the form is successfully submitted.

Step 1: Visit the official website, ctet.nic.in
Step 2: Click on the link apply for CTET 2026 on the home page
Step 3: Fill personal and academic details
Step 4: Upload a recent photograph and signature
Step 5: Paying the application fee
Step 6: Reviewing and submitting the form
Step 5: Take a printout of the confirmation page and application number for reference.

Exam pattern
CTET consists of two papers: Paper I for aspiring teachers of Classes 1-5 and Paper II for those aims to be Classes 6–8 teachers.
Each paper features multiple-choice questions and covers topics such as Child Development & Pedagogy, Language, Mathematics, Environmental Studies and other subject areas specific to the level chosen.
Eligibility and fees
Candidates must meet the prescribed academic criteria set by CBSE and pay the applicable fee online at the time of registration.
Eligible candidates can choose to sit for one or both papers based on their qualifications and career goals.
