The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has invited applications for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Engineers and Junior Engineers under the Public Works Department. The total number of vacancies is 463. Interested candidates can apply for the posts through the prescribed format on or before 21 December 2019. Eligibility Criteria for Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer Posts
Educational Qualification:
- Assistant Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University.
- Junior Engineer: Candidate must have passed 3 years Diploma course in Civil Engineering from a recognized University. The Diploma Course must be a regular course.
Age Limit
The candidates must be 21 years to 38 years as on 01.01.2019. (Age relaxation for reserved category candidates as per govt. norms)
Application Fee
- General Candidates – Rs 250/-
- SC/ST/OBC/MOBC – Rs 150/-
- BPL Certificate holders are not to pay any application fee
Selection Process
The Commission may shortlist the number of candidates either on the basis of their marks obtained in the academic qualification required for the advertised post or by holding multiple-choice OMR based Screening test or written examination. The candidates will be notified about it in due course.
If the Commission decides to hold written examination/screening test, the syllabus will be uploaded only on the official website, states the official notification. It further adds that the eligible candidates will have to download the Admit Cards/Call Letters from APSC website.

- The candidates are to fill up the application form by prescribed format and send it in an envelope on which the name of the post applied for is to be clearly written in bold letters.

- The filled-up forms should reach the Commission’s office on or before 21.12.2019.
