New Delhi: Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, has commenced a new programme on MA in Hindu Studies. The BHU said that the postgraduate course is the first-of-its-kind offered across the country.
The programme was inaugurated by BHU rector VK Shukla, who said it is an interdisciplinary course designed in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The Bharat Adhyayan Kendra, in association with the Department of Philosophy and Religion, Department of Sanskrit and Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archeology, under the faculty of Arts is offering the programme.
According to Professor Shukla, the programme will make the world aware of several unknown aspects of Hindu Dharma and help in taking its teachings to more people.
The course is being pursued by 45 students, including a foreign national, in its first batch.
