Kolkata: The West Bengal Government on Thursday said it will set up help desks in rural areas across the State to help students fill up online applications for college admissions.
State Education Minister Partha Chatterjee made this announcement after receiving complaints from a large number of candidates about difficulties faced in the registration process due to poor network connection and lack of familiarity, news agency PTI reported.
“From the next academic session, students and guardians who will face difficulty in filling up the online form, can approach the help desks,” the news agency quoting him as saying.
The help desks will be managed by the State higher education departments and set up near the college campuses beginning May-June 2020 admission season.
The State government has already made the admission process online including fee payment to avoid interference from the college unions.
