Birla Global University Celebrates Fifth Foundation Day On Utkal Divas
Bhubaneswar: Birla Global University (BGU), Bhubaneswar celebrated its fifth Foundation Day on April 1 which incidentally fell on the Utkal Divas.
Department of Agricultural Research and Education secretary and ICAR Director General, Dr Trilochan Mohapatra graced the occasion as chief guest and delivered the lecture. Dr Mohapatra is also an eminent agricultural scientist of the country.
The ceremony was held at the university seminar hall with the traditional lighting of the lamp along with the rendering of the Saraswati Vandana.
Dr Mahapatra discussed various issues and challenges the farmers and the agriculture sector in the country are currently going through. He emphasised on expanding the scope of agricultural education in the varsities, and how it can open a plethora of opportunities for young and talented people.
The director of Greater Noida-based BIMTECH and BGU Board of Governors’ member, Dr H Chaturvedi congratulated the faculty, staff and students on the occasion of the fifth Foundation Day of the university and Utkal Divas.
Dr Chaturvedi also released the BGU anthem on this occasion. Birla Global University vice-chancellor Prof PP Mathur, in his welcome address, said that as a young university, the varsity is progressive in approach.
