Bhubaneswar: Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar, celebrated International Women’s Day on its Gothapatana campus recently.
Director, ICMR-RMRC, Bhubaneswar, Dr Sanghamitra Pati, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and addressed the students and faculty members of the university on the theme Gender Equality Today For A Sustainable Tomorrow.
The director focused on the concept of equity along with equality and impressed upon the students the need for equity in our society in her speech.
Birla Global University Registrar Prof. BK Das cited the example of Nobel Laurette Prof. Muhammad Yunus in his address, who started providing loans to poor women who were not getting loans from banks due to lack of collateral.
Birla Global University’s Associate Professor, Dr Archana Choudhary welcomed the Chief Guest, Registrar, Deans of different schools, faculty members, students, and all the other dignitaries in her welcome address.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Assistant Professor, Birla Global University, Prof. Lopamudra Nayak.
