BPSC Dismisses CCE Prelims 2025 Exam Postponement As Rumours

The BPSC Prelims will be held on September 13; the recruitment drive, which was earlier notified for 1,250 posts, has now been expanded to 1,264 posts

NEW DELHI: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has dismissed the claims of the postponement of BPSC 71st CCE Prelims 2025.

In a release shared on social media platform X, the BPSC has said that the BPSC Prelims will be held on September 13. It called out coaching institutes, social media handles responsible for spreading rumors on the exam postponement.

The BPSC dismissed the rumours as unfounded and deceptive.

It reiterated that any announcements regarding exam postponements will be made solely through its official website, verified ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) account, or formal press releases.

According to the release, candidates will be provided adequate time to download BPSC Prelims admit cards and access details about their examination districts and centres.

The BPSC urged the candidates to remain cautious against misinformation and avoid relying on unofficial sources.

Earlier, it had received complaints alleging similarities between its exam questions and model papers from certain coaching institutes. However, it denied the allegations, dubbing them as entirely false and misleading.

The recruitment drive, which was earlier notified for 1,250 posts across various departments, has now been expanded to 1,264 vacancies, after the addition of 14 posts for Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). The breakdown of the key positions is given below.

AEDO posts

Meanwhile, The BPSC has started the recruitment for 935 Assistant Education Development Officer (AEDO) posts. The online registration process has begun, candidates can apply through the official website, bpsc.bihar.gov.in.

According to the official notification, the registration window will open on August 27 and closed on September 26, 2025.

Of the total 935 vacancies, 374 posts are for Unreserved (UR) candidates, 131 for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), 150 for Scheduled Castes (SC), 10 for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 168 for Extremely Backward Classes (EBC), 112 for Backward Classes (BC), and 90 for Backward Class Women (BCW).
