Bhubaneswar: In a bid to give major relief to the candidates, the Odisha government has decided to provide them with an extra attempt at the Odisha Civil Services Examination for the recruitment examination in 2021.
The general administration and public grievance (GA&PG) department issued a notification saying an additional compensatory attempt will be granted to candidates who had appeared in the Odisha Civil Services Examination (OCSE) 2019 and OCSE 2020 but are now ineligible to appear in OCSE 2021.
“After careful consideration, it has been decided by the government that notwithstanding anything contained in the rules, the intending candidates who have appeared in OCSE-2019 or OCSE-2020 but are otherwise ineligible to appear/compete in the OCSE-2021 on account of the attainment of upper age limit or exhaustion of the attempts prescribed under the Rules, shall be allowed one more additional compensatory attempt for appearing in OCSE-2021,” read the GA&PG notification on Monday.
However, the department stated that in future no further attempt to appear in the OCS Examination shall be entertained. “This shall come into force with immediate effect. The provisions of the OCS (CCRE) Rules, 1991 are being amended to the above extent separately,” it added.
