CBSE to reopen CTET 2026 Application Window From December 27

No fresh registrations will be allowed during this special window, says the CBSE

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will reopen the registration window for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) February.

In a release, the Board said that 1,61,127 registrations remained incomplete and were not converted into final applications.

Considering the large number of applicants that were left, the CSBE has decided to provide a one-time facility for these candidates to complete their application process.

This facility will be available on the portal from 11 am on December 27 until 11:59 pm on December 30, 2025.

Candidates are advised to verify their particulars and make the necessary corrections during the final submission process, as no further opportunity for corrections will be provided.

The CBSE has clarified that no fresh registrations will be allowed during this special window.

The online application process for the 21st edition of the CTET began on November 27 and concluded on December 18. A total of 25,30,581 candidates applied, with 3,53,218 applications submitted on the second last day and 4,14,981 on the final day.

The CTET is a national-level eligibility test that determines who can teach in Classes 1 to 8 across centrally administered and recognised schools in India. Conducted twice a year by CBSE, the exam is often a must-have credential for those aiming for jobs in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and other government and aided schools.
