CBSE Yet To Take A Call On Promotion Of School Students

New DelhiWhile several state boards have announced that students, other than those in Class X and XII, will be promoted to the next class without any exam in view of COVID-19 pandemic, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is yet to take a call about promotion of Class I to IX and Class XI students.

As per NDTV report, CBSE spokesperson Rama Sharma stated that the Central Board only conducts examinations for Class X and XII and has nothing to do with the results of other classes.

The decision about the promotions of Class I to IX and Class XI will be made after the decision of the Directorate of Education (DoE).

Among others, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan will be promoting all the students of Class I to VIII to the next class.

Gujarat Board has also decided to promote students of Class I to VIII and Class XI to the next class without exams.

Tamil Nadu government will also be promoting all the students of Class I to IX.

The MHRD has asked CBSE and NTA to reschedule the dates of the board exams and JEE exam, which have been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
