Bhubaneswar: The Central University of Odisha CUO), Koraput, organized a workshop on “Fine Tuning Research Planning” on March 7, 2020 at its campus in Sunabeda. The workshop was inaugurated by the vice chancellor of CUO, Prof I Ramabrahmam.
Speaking on the occasion, the VC highlighted the importance of planning in research work in any University. He said “the quality of research work directly augments and enhances the quality of teaching and learning in the any higher educational institution which can benefit the students, the society and the country. A research plan allows finding new knowledge and dig deeper to discover things and learn about new happenings”.
He assured the workshop will enhance the research capabilities of the scholars and faculty members of the university to publish many numbers of articles in the International publication by which the author along with university will be visible around the globe.
Eminent resource person Vishal Gupta, Customer Consultant, South Asia, Elsevier, a world-leading provider of information solutions to enhance the performance of science, health and technology conducted the workshop.
Prof P Durga Prasad, visiting professor of Sociology; Prof Sharat Kumar Palita, Dean, School of Biodiversity and Conservation of Natural Resources and Chairman of the Workshop were present on the dais.

Prof Palita explained the importance of research in different subject areas in higher educational institutions and use of different research software, modern methods particularly Scopus and Mendeley.
He said “many institutions are judged by its quality of research. We must develop our standard of research and know different tools and methods used to publish in international publications”.
Prof Prasad gave importance to quality research. He said “quality of research will be looked by many suspicious eyes. So, a researcher must enhance the knowledge and standard for good research.”
Visiting Professors, all faculty and research scholars of the university participated in the workshop. The workshop ended with question answer session.
