Class XII Boards: These States Are In Favour Of Holding Exams

New Delhi: Despite the raging second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, several states has decided to go ahead with the Class XII board examinations.

The call to conduct the Class XII board exams has come following the Union Government’s meeting on May 23 that decided on holding the Class XII board exams but has left state governments to decide on their own boards.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is also inclined to hold the Class XII board exam 2021 from July 15 to August 26.

Now, let us take a look at the states that are in favour of conducting class XII exams:

Karnataka

According to Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister Suresh Kumar, it is necessary to hold the second year Pre-University (Class XII) exams, in the interest of students’ future. However, an appropriate decision will be made shortly, considering various aspects and the Centre’s suggestions.

Chhattisgarh

The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) is set to conduct the Class XII exams between June 1 and June 5. Students will be required to write the exams in offline mode, but they can appear from home too.

Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu government wants to conduct the exams after the COVID-19 situation improves in the state. “Like other states, Tamil Nadu also wanted to conduct the Class 12 board exams as it plays an important role in deciding students career,” School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi said.

Haryana

The Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal also said that the board is keen on conducting the Class XII HBSE exams from June 15 to June 20.

Madhya Pradesh

The Madhya Pradesh (MP) Board will announce the decision in June first week. Minister of State for School Education (Independent Charge) and General Administration, Inder Singh Parmar said that the candidates’ health and safety will be given top priority.

Assam

The Assam Government is also ready to hold the Class XII board exams and has proposed that the students can appear in three papers only. “The students who are appearing for Matric or the higher secondary exams this year can appear in three subjects only,” Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu was quoted as saying by NDTV.

Gujarat

Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama has said that the GSEB Class XII Board examinations will be conducted at an appropriate time. The Board will take a call on the time and format of the examinations after discussing with Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
