Mumbai: Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said a call on holding the Class XII exams will be taken in a week’s time and said that the “non-examination route” option should be explored considering the pandemic situation.
Gaikwad was speaking to media persons after taking part in a Central government-convened meeting to decide the fate of the pending Class XII board exams and the subsequent entrance exams.
“There are 25,000 CBSE students and 14 lakh state board students (of Class 12 in Maharashtra),” Gaikwad was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
“The chief minister (Uddhav Thackeray) has called a meeting on Monday with the school education department and a decision regarding Class XII exams will be taken in a week’s time,” the school education minister said.
