COVID-19 Lockdown: 10 Online Free Learning Resources For Learners

New Delhi: The recent coronavirus pandemic has thrown normal life out of gear, thereby disrupting the continuity of education among learners.

During such a crisis, the HRD Ministry has appealed to the students to make use of various online learning resources to study at home during the lockdown period.

To ensure continuity of learning, the MHRD has made available several digital platforms that offers educational content for free and can be utilised by teachers, students as well as researchers.

Here is a list of 10 online learning websites by the HRD Ministry

  1. SWAYAM Online Courses: Itprovides teaching-learning materials for learners. Learners who had registered on SWAYAM (swayam.gov.in) in the January 2020 can continue their learning as usual.
  2. UG/PG MOOCs: It provides access to learning material of the SWAYAM UG and PG (Non-Technology) archived courses.
  3. e-PG Pathshala: It provides curriculum-based, interactive e-content containing 23,000 e-text and videos in disciplines of social sciences, arts, fine arts and humanities, natural & mathematical sciences.
  4. e-Content courseware in UG subjects:e-Content courseware in 87 Undergraduate courses with about 24,110 e-content modules is available on the CEC website at http://cec.nic.in/.
  1. SWAYAMPRABHA: It is a group of 32 DTH channels providing curriculum-based course contents covering disciplines such as arts, science, commerce, performing arts, social sciences and humanities subjects, engineering, technology, law, medicine, agriculture, etc to all teachers, students and citizens across the country interested in lifelong learning.
  2. CEC-UGC YouTube channel: It provides access to unlimited curriculum based lectures for free.
  3. National Digital Library: It provides academic content in different formats and interface support for leading Indian languages for all academic levels.
  4. Shodhganga: It is a digital repository platform of 2, 60,000 Indian Electronic Theses and Dissertations for research students to deposit their Ph.D. theses and make it available to the entire scholarly community.
  5. e-Shodh Sindhu: It provides current as well as archival access to more than 15,000 core and peer-reviewed journals and a number of bibliographic, citation and factual databases in different disciplines from a large number of publishers and aggregators.
  6. Vidwan: It is a database of experts which provides information about experts to peers, prospective collaborators, funding agencies policymakers and research scholar in the country.
