New Delhi: With people struggling to manage finances amid the nationwide lockdown, parents across the country have reached out to Human Resource Development Ministry to issue directions to authorities concerned to not implement any fee hike at least till the schools reopen.
While the state governments of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh have asked schools not to force the parents to pay fees during the lockdown period, no such instructions have been issued by the Delhi government yet.
“We understand the schools’ concern that they need to pay salaries and cannot waive fees but at least hike can be avoided at such crucial time. Why the government has not passed any order in this regard?” Gurgaon-based parent, Jagriti Shukla was quoted by The Indian Express as saying.
Many parents have also experienced salary cuts from their employers, and some even have lost their jobs, therefore, through the online petition they have demand the government to step-in and take necessary action in this regard.
