Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh said on Tuesday that decision regarding reopening of schools during the Unlock 4.0 phase will be made on September 1.
The Andhra government had earlier declared that schools will reopen on September 5. But Rajesh Bushan, the Union Secretary for Health, on Tuesday said that schools will not be allowed to reopen in Unlock 4.0.
“We will follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Once we get instructions from the MHA on August 31, when it will release guidelines for Unlock-4, a decision will be taken,” principal secretary for education B Rajasekhar said.
Meanwhile, Suresh held a review meeting on the supply of materials such as fans, blackboards, benches under the Nadu-Nedu scheme, which was announced by the Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy in November last year.
Suresh directed the officials to check why the materials have not been supplied yet to a few mandals.
