New Delhi: The registration for those students whose parents want them to be transferred to government schools from private ones started online on Thursday.
The process known as ‘non-plan’ admission — admission apart from transfer from feeder schools — normally starts in April every year. The process for classes VI to IX, which started on Thursday, will continue till September 8. According to an education department official, the sorting out of the process delayed it.
“We are doing the application process online this year to prevent crowding at schools and so that the form can be filled even by families which are not in Delhi now… We also had to make sure that the online process was simple enough so that it can be done without any kind of support,” the official said.
