New Delhi: Delhi employment minister Gopal Rai said at least 10 lakh jobs are on offer on government’s newly launched job portal. Hailing the portal as “Delhi model”, Rai said more than 6000 employers have advertised on the web portal while nine lakh jobs are still open.
“Following the coronavirus lockdown, a large number of people faced unemployment in Delhi. Companies had a shortage of workers after many of them left Delhi in the lockdown. Considering this, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched this job portal — the Rozgar Bazar… It has created a new model to get the economy back on track and offer employment to people,” Rai said.
According to the minister, the portal has so far received 22 lakh advertisements for jobs after its launch. A task force has also been created to verify that.
Companies like Aditya Birla Group, Reliance, Amazon, HDFC bank, Assam Tea and others have offered jobs through the portal. For nine lakh jobs on offer, about 8.60 lakh are still open for the candidates.
“Till today, nearly 10 lakh vacancies were closed by the employers which means they have received the required number of people,” Rai further added.
