New Delhi: Amidst the deadly coronavirus outbreak, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Friday, filed a memorandum of demands regarding examinations to the vice-chancellor of Delhi University.
The step came after the Delhi University (DU) announced that it might go for ‘Open Book’ exams because the situation due to the coronavirus outbreak is getting worse day-by-day.
In a statement, ABVP expressed its regret that the authorities have given very less time for discussion with concerned students. The students’ body requested that more and more easy ways should be provided to the students for evaluation.
Many students had left the city in mid-term because of the coronavirus outbreak. They don’t have enough study material with them. So, the authorities should make the necessary arrangements to provide them study material, said the ABVP statement. It also said that final year students should be marked with the conventional method while others should be promoted.
All the students should be marked only on that part of the syllabus, which is covered during classroom teaching. The ABVP requested that methods like viva-voce, projects MCQs and assignments should be used by the university to fulfill the examination requirement.
