Delhi University Approves Syllabi For Four Subjects

New Delhi: An Oversight Committee along with Delhi University (DU) varsity approved the syllabi of four courses on August 6, 2020. It also suggested that Hindi translations must be made available for the students, wherever possible during online classes.

DU has also created an integrated online platform called ‘OneDU’ to streamline the online education process and is set to begin from August 10, 2020.

The four courses include Political Science, Sociology, History, and English.

“The syllabi have been approved. The general recommendation given to the departments is that the Hindi text should be made available for subjects like History, Sociology, and Political Science. Wherever possible, the department should engage in getting translations in Hindi so that it becomes more accessible,” Chairman of the Oversight Committee on Syllabi, Maharaj Pandit was quoted as saying by PTI.

Last year, there were a lot of problems related to the syllabus of these subjects.

The syllabi of the four courses for the first semester were referred back by the executive council to the departments. It had submitted the revised syllabi to the oversight committee, which had passed those, reported India Today.
