New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Friday agreed to Delhi University (DU) conducting online Open Book Examination (OBE) for final year undergraduate courses from August 10 after following certain guidelines.
The court passed the verdict on a plea challenging the university’s decision to hold online OBE, as per the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines, for final year undergraduate courses which will be in long-form exams, reported India TV News.
Justice Prathiba M Singh said the questions papers will be sent to the student’s email ID and be uploaded on the varsity’s portal. The students will also be given an extra hour to upload the answer sheets.
While pronouncing the decision via video conferencing, the judge directed the university to send an auto-generated email informing students about having received their answer sheets.
For students who do not have the infrastructure to appear in the exams will be allowed to appear from Common Service Centres of CSC Academy. The court also directed the academy to inform all its centres regarding it.
Regarding students’ complaints, the High Court added, “DU Grievances Officer shall redress the emailed complaints of students regarding the process within 48 hours. If not, the matter shall automatically be referred to the Grievances Redressal Committee.”
