Bhubaneswar: The State Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (SCTE & VT) on Monday informed via a notification that examinations for sixth semester diploma students in Odisha will be held online from August 1-20.
“Students of the sixth semester who have registered for summer exam and paid the requisite fees as per the procedure and have no back paper in any of the previous semesters (first-fifth) may choose to appear for the online semester or opt for an alternative method of award of marks based on their previous semester performances.” the notification read.
Students with back papers in any previous semester and have paid the requisite course fees can opt for online examinations for the sixth semester including the back papers. However, if these students fail to opt for online pattern this time, they will have to reappear for all previous papers including the sixth semester exams together in the winter semesters of 2020. Alternate method of awarding marks based on previous performances will not be applicable to these students.
Keeping issues related to internet access and lack of technical equipment the mind, SCTE & VT has promised to ensure necessary arrangements for the students. The council will facilitate students with necessary resources in designated polytechnics and government ITI centres. The council in its notification said, “It shall provide one such institute in every district of the state for this purpose.”
The council has decided to follow MCQ pattern with two hours time duration for the online examination.
