New Delhi: The Delhi Technological University (DTU) is set to launch a ‘lab on wheels’ in an effort to educate students from schools in the national capital and those residing in rural areas.
The bus will be launched by Delhi deputy CM and education minister Manish Sisodia on April 6. The bus will be equipped with 17 computer systems, two television sets, one 3D printer, an air conditioner, surveillance cameras and a printer.
The lab will travel to several Delhi schools and educational institutes, and a DTU students’ team will provide tutorials, study tours and lectures. It will also assist underprivileged students from across the Union Territory in finding access to education.
According to DTU vice-chancellor Prof Yogesh Singh, the effort is aimed at serving humanity under the ‘Digital Village-Literate India’ initiative.
In collaboration with the state government, the DTU will improve the status of schools and higher education.
