New Delhi: The University of Delhi (DU) has introduced a one-time relaxation in its undergraduate promotion criteria for students enrolled in the 2025-26 academic session.

Under the revised provision, undergraduate students of the 2025-26 batch who have completed one year of their programme will be exempted from the requirement of earning 28 credits out of 44 credits for meeting the promotion criteria.

However, the university has clarified that it is strictly a one-time relaxation that will apply only to students belonging to the 2025-26 academic batch. The exemption will not extend to students admitted in subsequent academic sessions.

DU has also clarified that all other provisions included in its earlier notifications concerning credits and promotion will continue to remain in force.

According to a notification issued by the Controller of Examinations, the relaxation has been introduced under the provisions of the National Education Policy-based Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (NEP UGCF) 2022.

The decision has been taken in accordance with resolutions passed by the Academic Council and the Executive Council of Delhi University.
