Bhagalpur: Union Education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ laid the foundation stone for the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Bhagalpur on Monday.
The Central Public Works Department (CPWD)-built campus consists of lecture halls, administrative and lecture blocks, computer centre, hostel for girls and boys and faculty residence, reported ABP Education.
According to Pokhriyal, the institute can lend helping hand to the silk industry in manufacturing high-quality silk clothes by providing technical inputs.
With an accommodation of 600 students, digital education facilities would also be available in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020).
The ministry of home affairs secretary, Amit Khare, state minister Ashok Chaudhary and the director of IIIT Bhagalpur, Arvind Choubey also graced the occasion.
