FTII Pune Announces ‘Basic Course in Digital Music Production For Beginners’

The course will run from December 8 to 12; the last date for submitting the application forms is November 24, 2025, 6 pm.

NEW DELHI: Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune under its ‘Centre For Open Learning (CFOL)’ has announced ‘Basic Course in Digital Music Production For Beginners’ from December 8 to 12, 2025 at Vijay Tendulkar Writer’s Academy, Rambaug Colony, Near Doordarshan Kendra, Kothrud, Pune.

The last date for submitting the application forms is November 24, 2025, 6 pm. Application submitted after due date and time will not be considered.

Course schedule

Name of the Course: Basic Course in Digital Music Production For Beginners

Dates: 08-12 December 2025 (5 days, Monday to Friday)

Timings: 10 am to 5 pm (01 pm – 02 pm Lunch Break)

Max. no. of seats: 24 (Course may not be conducted if min. strength of 20 is reached)

Age criteria: 18 years & above as on 01 December 2025 (participants born on or before 30 November 2007)

Educational Qualification: HSC (12th pass). In exceptional cases, 10th pass may be considered

Nationality: Indian

Medium of Instructions: English & Hindi

Course fee: Rs 11,000 (Course fee is excluding lunch, tea/ coffee, snacks etc.)

The course fee of selected participants will be non-refundable, non-transferrable, non-adjustable, etc. under any circumstances. Course fee of all the non – selected participants will be returned within 21 working days of the course commencement.

However, due to any reason, if the course is postponed OR cancelled by the organisers, course fee will be refunded.

Mode of payment: Online through SBI Collect (along with application form).

Selection Criteria: On first–come–first –served basis.

The list of selected participants will be published on the official website and selection emails will also be sent to all the selected participants.

Certificates: All participants will get participation certificate on successful completion of the course.  Minimum 90% attendance is mandatory to get a certificate.

All communications with the participants will be carried out through email only. List of shortlisted participants will be published on FTII website and selection email will be sent to the selected participants on their registered email.

Step 2: In the search box, search FTII Fees Account and click submit.

Step 3: In the payment category select “B1 B C in Digital Music Production For Beginners”.

Step 4: Fill-up the application form with requisite details and proceed for payment.

Step 5: Make necessary payment of Rs 11,000

Step 6: Once payment is made, please note “SBI collect Reference Number” (mentioned in payment confirmation receipt). This may be required for future reference.

Step 7: No document/ certificate related to educational qualification, age etc. is to be attached. Participants’ self–declaration in the application form is sufficient.

Course Contents

This is a crash course on modern music making – from idea to audio reproduction.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of sound, basic recording set-up, and various tools and techniques that can be used in making music at home.

The course will impart the necessary overview about music theory, song structures, and give an overview into composition and arrangement of music.

The course will equip the students with the ability to utilize readily available equipment (such as mobile phones and tablets) to record and edit your own music.
