Bhubaneswar: Three batches of students of Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University’s faculty of medicine, were presented their certificates here on Saturday.
Successful MBBS students of 2015, 2016 and 2017 batches received their degrees, along with postgraduate students of different courses from 2018, 2019 and 2020 batches. Certificates were also presented to those who completed their postgraduate courses in super-speciality subjects.
SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, who was the chief guest of the special ceremony, administered the oath to the graduates and postgraduates. While urging them to serve humanity as doctors, he said they should also focus on research and improvement of healthcare.
SOA Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Sitikantha Mishra, Controller of Examination Prof. Manjula Das, Dean of IMS and SUM Hospital Prof. (Dr) Sanghamitra Mishra, Additional Dean Prof. (Dr) Ajay Jena, Medical Superintendent Prof. (Dr) Pusparaj Samantasinhar, Dean (Students’ Welfare) Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Heads of different departments and members of the Academic Council were also present.
