Girls will be allowed to take admission to the Sainik School of Gujarat, in Jamnagar district, for the first time during the next academic year.
A press release of Gujarat Defence PRO stated that 10 per cent, or a minimum of 10 seats, will be reserved for girls. Girls will be admitted to Sainik School initially in Class 6, for the 2021-22 session.
A girls’ hostel is being constructed for, the release stated.
Like the boys, military training will be imparted to girls also to enable them join as officers in armed forces.
Admission process for the next academic session will be held online, and National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the entrance examination on January 10, 2021.
