NEW DELHI: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has released the dates for the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) 2026.
The GUJCET 2026 exam will be held on March 29, 2026, at district-level centres across the state in a single shift from 10 am to 4 pm. This entrance test is conducted for admissions to degree programmes in engineering, pharmacy, and diploma pharmacy courses offered by colleges in Gujarat.
The board said that the detailed information regarding the GUJCET 2026 application form and the information booklet would be available on the official website, gseb.org.
According to the Government of Gujarat, Education Department’s Resolution No. PARC-102012-S dated November 19, 2016, the GUJCET examination became compulsory from 2017 onwards for admission to degree engineering, degree pharmacy, and diploma pharmacy courses after Class 12 (10+2 pattern) in the Science stream.
The GUJCET 2026 exam will be based on the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) syllabus for Class 12 Science subjects, specifically Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.
The syllabus adheres to the academic framework implemented by the Gujarat Board from June 2019, following the Education Department’s resolution dated October 25, 2017.
Exam pattern
- The exam will consist of multiple-choice questions
- Physics and Chemistry will be combined in one paper, featuring 80 questions (40 from each subject) for a total of 80 marks, to be completed in 120 minutes.
- Separate papers will be held for Biology and Mathematics, each with 40 questions for 40 marks and a duration of 60 minutes per paper.
- Candidates will use separate OMR sheets for each paper.
- The GUJCET 2026 question papers will be available in Gujarati, English, and Hindi, ensuring accessibility for students across different linguistic backgrounds.
