Gurugram: Two students of Class X and XII committed suicides in two separate incidents in the city after not being able to get expected scores in Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results 2020.
The two had achieved good scores, but they were reportedly not happy with their performance.
The incidents prompted the district administration to appeal to parents to celebrate grades received by children and keep the spirits up. A toll free helpline 1800118004 has also been issued by the CBSE.
The first incident took place in Todapur village near Pataudi where a student hung himself from a ceiling fan in his room on Thursday night.
A similar incident happened in New Palam Vihar area when a 17-year-old girl, a class XII student, committed suicide. She had got 92 per cent, but her expectation was more.
“Both children had cleared exams with good marks but were not very happy. Prima facie these are result depression cases, but probe is on,” police spokesperson Subhash Bokan said.
