Here’s Why Nottingham Trent University Revoked British Student’s Admission Offer

London: The Nottingham Trent University in United Kingdon has revoked an offer made to a student after he hurled racist abuse to English footballers Marcus Rahsford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka following the country’s loss in the final of the Euro 2020.

A Snapchat video went viral on Instagram in which the student whose offer has been withdrawn was heard hurling racist abuses towards the three English players. All three missed their attempts during the penalty shootout at Wembley last Sunday.

The Nottingham Trent University confirmed via a statement made to The Tab Nottingham that it has withdrawn the offer made to the young man to attend the university.

“This allegation does not involve an NTU student. We do not tolerate any form of discrimination, including racism.

“We looked into this matter immediately and as a result have withdrawn an offer to an applicant,” a Nottingham Trent University spokesperson was quoted as saying in the statement by Sky Sports.

Five people have been arrested so far by Police for racially abusing England players online since Sunday’s Euro final defeat to Italy.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson had on Wednesday warned that social media companies will be made to pay fines in case they fail to remove racist abuses from their respective platforms.
