Shimla: Girls performed excellently in the arts and commerce streams, while boys took the top honours in the science merit list of Class 12 exams of Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE), announced on Thursday.

The pass percentage was 76.07 – a 14.06% jump from last year’s figures. This was the highest overall pass percentage in the last four years.
According to HPBOSE chairman Suresh Kumar Soni, a total of 65,564 students passed the exams out of 86,633 candidates, while 9,391 got compartmental.
The class 12 exams of the HP Board were conducted from March 4. However, exams of some papers had to be cancelled after nationwide lockdown was implemented in view of the COVID-19 outbreak. Evaluation of papers was also delayed by more than a month.
