New Delhi: The Union Minister of Human Resource Development (HRD) Ramesh Pokhriyal on Thursday asked the IITs to assist the other educational institutes with online teaching methods.
The HRD minister held a meeting with the Indian IIT directors and asked them to train the other institutes in it.
Stating that this is the time to ‘make online education more innovative’, he advised the IITians to develop a mechanism for giving credit points to students for utilizing the online portals to study.
Institutes can take advantage of the online courses on the educational portal SWAYAM.
Earlier, the HRD Ministry had informed that the traffic on SWAYAM had tripled during the lockdown period.
In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, all the educational institutes in India will remain shut till April 14, 2020.
